Renowned seascape artist with over 30 years of painting experience

Bari Duncan’s journey began early—filling colouring books as a child before moving on to sketch portraits of family members at gatherings. With three decades of artistic practice behind her, Bari spent 10 years working in acrylics before discovering her true passion for oil painting.

Based in Napier, Hawke’s Bay, her deep connection to the coast is reflected in her signature seascapes. Though she prefers observing the ocean over being in it, the sea remains her constant source of inspiration.

Bari has exhibited widely across New Zealand and Australia, with solo and group shows, and her work is held in private collections worldwide. She’s also been featured in The New Zealand Artist, Australian Artist, and International Artist magazines.
