With upright ears, a watchful gaze and a splendid blue uniform trimmed in gold, Field Marshall Burrows has a wonderfully dignified presence. Nola Weber’s warm brushwork gives his golden fur and sweeping whiskers a softness that contrasts beautifully with his formal attire.

One of five characters in Nola Weber’s wonderfully witty portrait series, “The Scallywags”, painted in oils at 93 years young. Small in size, enormous in presence.

Artist: Nola Weber
