With her chin lifted and eyes softly lowered, the woman in Just Breathe holds a moment of stillness amid rich blues and layers of torn paper. Janice Corbishley balances the portrait’s bold presence with a quiet invitation to pause.

A blue butterfly rests at her throat, gently suggesting renewal and the freedom to find one’s voice. Its placement echoes blue’s association with the throat chakra, weaving expression and self-trust into the work without needing to say a word. A reminder to soften, breathe and allow room for what is becoming.
