Tall Poppy

You crouch low, where the poppies bloom bold and bright — their petals lit like flame, delicate and defiant. The sun has just dipped behind the hill, casting it in shadow, but not before sending a final silvered ribbon of light sweeping across the field.

It spills low along the ground, brushing each flower with a kiss of gold, as though the earth itself remembers the sun’s warmth even as it vanishes. There’s a stillness here — a quiet held breath between day and night — captured in the glow of a fleeting moment.
